DUSHANBE, April 26, 20016, Asia-Plus – Deputy Foreign Minister, Muzaffar Huseinov, yesterday met here with a Thai delegation, led by Chalermpol Thanchitt, Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Thailand in priority areas being of mutual interest.

They also exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Thailand were established on August 5, 1992.  Since the establishment of diplomatic relations multifaceted relations have been developing both bilaterally and multilaterally.  Legal foundation of bilateral cooperation between the countries includes more than 10 cooperation documents, as well as joint declarations between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand on the outcome of mutual visits to Tajikistan and Thailand.
