DUSHANBE, May 31, 2016, Asia-Plus – Remittances sent to Tajikistan from Russia through the Unistream money transfer system over the first three months year have reportedly risen 19 percent.

According to the Unistream’s website, remittances sent from Russia through the Unistream money transfer system in January-March this year have amounted to nearly 50 billion Russian rubles, which was 7 percent more than in the same period last year.

The volume of cross-border remittances has reportedly increased by 11 percent over the report period.

Unistream notes that the most significant growth in the cross-border remittance volumes last year was registered in the following CIS nations: Kyrgyzstan (+45%); Kazakhstan (+30%); and Tajikistan (+19%).

Among the far abroad countries leaders in remittances through the Unistream money transfer system are the Czech Republic (+300%); Turkey (+200%), and the Philippines (+130%).

Unistream, sometimes written UNIstream Bank, is an international money transfer company and bank based in Russia.  The service was originally a department of Uniastrum Bank, but in 2006 became a separate company, with its own banking license.  Unistream has operations at 335,000 locations in over 100 countries.
