Dushanbe expected to host Tajikistan-Austria bilateral political consultations next week

DUSHANBE, June 2, 2016, Asia-Plus – Ambassador Heidemarie Gurer, Director of the Department for Eastern Europe, Western Balkans, Southern Caucasus and Central Asia at Austria’s Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, will arrive in Dushanbe on June 6 for participation in bilateral political consultations between Tajikistan and Austria, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

We will recall that the previous bilateral political consultations between Tajikistan and Austria, co-chaired by Nizomiddin Zohidi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, and Dr. Michael Linhart, Secretary-General of the Federal Ministry for European Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria, took place here on October 12, 2015.

The two sides exchanged views on the state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Austria in the framework of the European Union (EU)’s programs, priorities of the Austrian OSCE chairmanship in 2017, as well as a number of regional and international issues being of mutual interest.
