Under the Department for Organized Crime Control of the Ministry of Internal Affair of Tajikistan on the 1st of September was opened the center for combating human trafficking, which was built with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan.

As reported the press center of the Interior Ministry of the Republic, opening ceremony of the two-storey building was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan Ramazon Rahimzoda and Ambassador of USA in Tajikistan Elizabeth Millard.

The sides expressed confidence that the center will make a significant contribution to the confrontation of human trafficking.

The Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country has set specific objectives before the personnel of the Department for Organized Crime Control to strengthen the fight against terrorism, extremism, human trafficking, smuggling of precious stones and metals.
