In press release issued today, Spitamen Bank explains how to use Internet banking safely and  0Last theme was devoted to internet banking; today we will talk about how to use internet banking and to protect yourselves against online scams.

“- Look carefully to the URL-address of the online banking Web site begins with «https: //», rather than «http: //».

“-Do not use the hyperlinks to get on the Internet site of the bank; do not trust links received from search engines and e-mails. Enter the web address each time manually.

“- Remember, how the official website of your bank looks like  or financial institution, like how the identification and authentication on the site. A careful user will find the attack associated with a substitution site, notice small changes in standard pages, grammar, spelling mistakes, incorrect or old logo or change the location of objects.

“- Do not trust e-mail or text messages coming as if from your bank or financial institution. Banks or financial institutions never communicate with their customers via e-mail for information verification request.

“- Get a separate bank card and only use it to make purchases over the Internet. Do not use for this purpose a credit card or set restrictive limits.

“- Do not use the bank card information to confirm the identity.

“-Do not agree with a proposal to the web browser or other systems to save logins and passwords.

“-Do not publish on the Internet your personal information (e.g., number and address of your school, mother's maiden name, date of birth, etc. such data can be used to answer the security questions on the websites. By placing this information, you will facilitate the task of criminals.”
