The victory of Sukhrob Khamdamov and Mutriba Khotami completed the next Tajik Chess Championship, which was held in Penjikent.

As expected, in the women's tournament there were no equal Mutriba, she won the competition with a 100% result – 11 wins in 11 rounds.

The main sensation of the women's championship can be considered the second place of Sabrina Abrorova. She is only 10 years old, she studies at Dushanbe school №55. Sabrina first tried her abilities among adults. She scored 10 points out of 11 possible. The third place with 8,5 points was taken by Sarvinoz Karimova.

In the men's championship everything went without any sensational results. Experienced Sukhrob Hamdamov in a round-robin tournament bypassed all his young rivals – gaining 9 points out of 11, and became once again the champion of the republic. The second and third places were taken by Amin Kobilov and Alisher Karimov, who scored 8.5 points each.

The unexpected result was the appearance of last year's champion of the country Mustafohoja Khusendhojaev – following the results of the championship, he divided 4-5 places with Azam Yunusov.

As the vice-president of the Chess Federation of Tajikistan Ilkhom Yunusov said, in the near future Tajik chess players are expected by two tournaments.

The first of them is September 7-9, the Festival of National Games of Tajikistan will be held in Dushanbe In its program there are also chess competitions.

Five chess players of the republic will take part in the Asian indoor games, which will be held in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan)  September 17-27.
