Yesterday August 21, at 17.00 the Shohmansur district court announced the verdict to Russian citizen Tatyana Huzhina, accused of smuggling coins from the times of the tsarist era of Russia.

The court sentenced her to a fine of 100 calculated figures, which equals 5 thousand somoni, said judge Masrur Jurakhonzoda.

Earlier, the prosecutor asked to condemn a Russian citizen for 6 years.

According to Tatyana’s lawyer – Rustam Khakimov, the court took into account the fact that Huzhina has an underage daughter.

He also noted that by a court decision, the coin for which Huzhina was tried will be sent to one of the Tajik museums.

Tatiana did not hide her joy with the court's decision:

“I am very grateful that the court took into account the fact that I did not commit this crime with malice and that they also regretted me, because I have a little daughter”, – she says.

Tatyana also expressed her gratitude to all the media that have been monitoring this process all this time. "I am grateful to ordinary people who supported me, wrote sms with words of support and everyone, everyone who helped me!", – Tatyana said.

Huzhina intends to pay a fine within 10 days.

This afternoon they gave the floor to the accused. She stated that she did not have malicious intent, there was no motive in exporting the coin, she did not commit the crime intentionally. Tatyana also noted that she loves her Motherland (Tajikistan) And hopes for the favor of the court. 

“I loved and missed my homeland and besides that I had no other intention to come here," she said. I asked to pity me. After all, my fate and my daughter now depend on their decision”
