The President of Tajikistan signed amendments to the laws of Tajikistan "On the regulation of traditions, celebrations and ceremonies", "On Education", "On Primary Vocational Education", "On Secondary Vocational Education", "On Higher Professional Education and Postgraduate Professional Education", the Criminal Code of the Republic Tajikistan and the Code of Administrative Offenses, adopted by the lower and approved by the upper house of parliament.
According to the presidential press service, amendments to the law "On the regulation of traditions, celebrations and rituals" were adopted taking into account the applications and representations of the residents of the country during meetings, speeches in the media, as well as voiced during the meeting on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of this law on July 11, 2017, with the aim of improving the social situation, preventing and reducing unnecessary spending in celebrations and ceremonies, prohibiting certain rites, raising the standard of living of the people of Tajikistan additionally defines the authority of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, permanent local and public commissions in this field.
According to the introduced changes and additions, there are provided for decoration of the spiritual, modest dastarkhan during Ramadan and Kurban holidays, prevention of waste and excess, circumcision within the family and without the services of artists, with the consent of the parents until the twentieth day after the birth of the son in the relevant medical institutions for free.
These laws will be effective after their official publication.
