The international rating company Moody's Investors Service estimated the independent credit rating of Tajikistan, the press center of the National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.

The independent credit rating of Tajikistan is estimated to the extent of "B3, sustainable development" (B3, Outlook Stable). This indicator was published on the eve on the official website of the rating company.

Earlier, the Advisory Council on improving the investment climate under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan instructed the National Bank, in cooperation with responsible ministries and departments, to determine the country's independent credit rating jointly with international rating companies.

The country's credit rating serves as a financial indicator for investors of securities and is determined by international rating agencies by categories "A", "B", and "C".

The publication of the results of the assessment of Tajikistan's independent credit rating is one of the main requirements for entering international investment markets, the report says.

Tajikistan required the services of a rating agency to attract financial resources for the construction of the Rogun HPP through the issuance of government securities. But in order to launch the Eurobonds, it will be necessary  conclusion at least  another one a second rating company.

"As a minimum, we must obtain the conclusion of two rating companies on the financial state, GDP and other criteria. The second such company with which negotiations are being conducted is the S&P rating company", — Deputy Minister of Finance Jamshed Nurmahmadiyon stated in the lower house of parliament, when the government's proposal to issue government securities and their implementation in international financial markets was considered to finance the construction of Rogun.

Nurmahmadiyon then informed the deputies that the issued securities will be sold in the international financial markets of the United States under the relevant US legislation.

The international rating agency Moody's Investors Service was founded in 1909 and is one of the three leaders of international rating agencies. Moody's employs more than 10,000 employees in 26 countries, with assets of $ 3.5 billion.

The cooperation of Tajikistan with the agency Moody's Investors Service has been established since 2013 in order to determine the sovereign rating of the country for further monitoring.

Within the framework of the visit to Dushanbe, Moody's representatives plan to hold meetings with the heads of ministries and departments of the country, as well as with the permanent representatives of ADB, IMF, WB and the heads of the US and Russian embassies.
