A Tajik government delegation has not been participating in the ongoing OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM) in Warsaw.  Ms. Rajabmo Badriddinova, children’s ombudsman for Tajikistan, who allegedly had to arrive in Warsaw, is currently in Geneva.

Meanwhile, a source at Tajik Ombudsman’s Office says children’s ombudsman was not planned to participate in the OSCE annual human rights and democracy conference in Warsaw.  “As member of the Tajik delegation, Ms. Badriddinova is currently in Geneva.

“Our delegation, led by Justice Minister Rustam Shohmurod, is currently in Geneva to present the report on fulfilling obligations under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child,” he source added.

The Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM) of OSCE participating States is Europe's largest annual human rights and democracy conference.  It is organized every year by the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) as a platform for the 57 OSCE participating States, the OSCE Partners for Cooperation, OSCE structures, civil society, international organizations and other relevant actors to take stock of the implementation of OSCE human dimension commitments, discuss associated challenges, share good practices and make recommendations for further improvement.

Based on OSCE Permanent Council’s decisions 1256 and 1265 from July 2017 on the dates, topics and agenda of 2017 Human Dimension Implementation Meeting (HDIM), the 2017 meeting is taking place in Warsaw from September 11 to 22.

The meeting takes place in Warsaw with two sessions scheduled per day. Please consult the schedule in the attached Agenda.

There will also be side events organized every day by the participants of the conference.
