President Emomali Rahmon has urged Tajiks to take measures to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming winter.

President Emomali Rahmon yesterday held a meeting to review measures taken by the government to ensure the regular work of the country's economy during autumn-winter 2017-2018, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Rahmon reportedly ordered government bodies to make preparations for the upcoming winter.  He, in particular, ordered to store fuel and food reserves in all cities and districts and take measures to provide the population, economic, social and cultural facilities with electricity and fuel.

The president also urged the country’s citizens to take measures to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming winter.

The meeting also discussed draft laws on making changes and addenda to the country’s laws on education, scientific activity and the national scientific-and-technological policy, and holidays.

Besides, the meeting participants discussed government’s opinions on amendments proposed to the Constitutional law on the order of solving issues of the administrative-territorial system of Tajikistan and the country’s laws on president’s symbols, freedom of worship and religious associations, and traffic safety.

The draft laws and opinions were sent for consideration to the parliament lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon).
