A new commercial bank has been established in Tajikistan bringing a total number of commercial banks operating in the country to seventeen. Nothing is known about its founders. The National bank of Tajikistan (NBT) just says that its founders are nationals of Tajikistan.
The National Bank of Tajikistan has granted an operating license to a new financial institution in Tajikistan – Kommertsbank Tajikistan LLC.
According to the NBT press center, the license was granted to Kommertsbank Tajikistan LLC on October 10 in accordance with Article 42 of the RT Law “On the National Bank of Tajikistan” and Articles 7 and 10 of RT Law “On the Banking Activity.”
Press release issued by Tajik central bank says Kommertsbank Tajikistan LLC has been established on the basis of FARDO Micro Deposit Organization LLC and founders of the new bank are nationals of Tajikistan.
Head office of FARDO Micro Deposit Organization LLC was located in Dushanbe and its director was Ms. Dilbar Huseinova.
The license that was granted to FARDO Micro Deposit Organization LLC in June 2016 has been revoked in connection with the establishment of a full-fledged bank on the basis of that micro credit organization, the NBT press center says.
The establishment of Kommertsbank Tajikistan LLC has brought a total number of commercial banks operating in Tajikistan to seventeen.
Before that there were 15 commercial banks operating in the country: Orienbonk; Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB); Agroinvestbonk; Bank Eskhata; Sohibkorbonk; CJSC The First MicroFinanceBank-Tajikistan (FMFB-T); Bonki Rushdi Tojikiston (Tajikistan Development Bank); CJSC NBP Pakistan Subsidiary Bank in Tajikistan; the Branch of Iran's Tejarat Bank in Dushanbe; Kazkommertsbank-Tajikistan; Kafolatbonk; AccessBank Tajikistan; Bank Asia; Spitamen Bank; and Tajikistan International Bank.
Besides the state-run Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) also provides commercial bank services offering loans.
