The Tajik aluminum company plans to start developing the Konchoch group of deposits next year. The deposits located in the Ayni region contain large reserves of gold, silver, mercury, antimony and other metals.

«The work on the implementation of this investment project was continued in 2017. However, to start the development, they need to go through a certain procedure, which takes a very long time», – отмечают в ТАЛКО.

Currently, the British company Micon International Ltd. is engaged in the assessment of reserves that were explored even during the Soviet Union.

«In 2018, it is planned to begin work on the extraction and enrichment (production) of gold, silver, and antimony», – stress in the company.

In parallel, TALCO is looking for suitable partners for co-financing this large-scale project.

«Partners who offer cooperation to us are interested in specific metals, that is, gold and silver. But there are a lot of latent expensive metals, in particular selenium and some others. And the cost of one gram of selenium is 37 thousand dollars. It is clear that we will not throw these metals into a dump. In connection with this there is a delay», – added in TALCO.

in June 2015, the government adopted the "State Support Program for the Recovery of the Economic Situation of TALCO".

As part of this program, the company's management proposed the government transfer to the company the Konchoch group of deposits in the Ayni district of the Sughd region. In December of the same year, the company received a license that gives it the right to use these deposits for a period of 25 years.

According to preliminary calculations of TALCO, gold reserves in these fields exceed 55 tons, and silver – about 44 tons. In addition, there are also mercury reserves (184 tons), antimony (268,000 tons), fluorite (205,000 tons) and a number of other minerals. TALCO plans to process at the Konchoch group of deposits annually up to 900 thousand tons of ore.

The Konchoch group of deposits consists of three objects: Chulboi (gold, silver), Konchoch (gold, silver, mercury, fluorite), Shakhkon (gold, antimony, arsenic, fluorite).
