A 19-year-old man has been injured in a hit-and-run accident in Dushanbe.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, a teen driver has hit pedestrian in downtown Dushanbe.

The accident reportedly took place on Sino Avenue Sunday night, at around 11:30 pm.

Lexus RX-330 driven by underage Hadyatullo Saydaliyev hit the 19-year-old Somoni Qurbonov and left the scene of the accident, the website said.

Somoni Qurbonov was taken to a hospital with various injuries.

Hadyatullo Saydaliyev, who is the 9th grade student at one of Dushanbe schools, was detained. The vehicle belongs to his father Abdulhomid Saydaliyev.

Criminal proceedings have instituted and an investigation is under way.
