On the occasion of the Day of the Mother, Asia-Plus and Obi-Zulol today launched a festive action “Modaroni Dushanbe” (Mothers of Dushanbe).  A festively decorated bus will carry women along route 3 free of charge.  Besides, various gifts and surprises are waiting for them.

The bus will run along route 3 and any woman may get on the festive bus adorned with flowers and balloons.  Various gifts and surprises are waiting for her.

Besides, each of them will receive a special tag to participate in a prize drawing that will be held in live broadcast on Radio Asia-Plus today afternoon.

The event is being held under support of the Dushanbe mayor’s office.  The general sponsors of the action are bottled water and soft drinks producers Obi Zulol and RC Cola.  The official sponsors are the International bank of Tajikistan, Tcell Mobile Operator, “555” Confectionery, Huawei Company, and the partner for the action is the Center for Esthetic Ginecology and Cosmetology.

Recall, International Women’s Day has been known in Tajikistan as the Day of the Mother since March 2009.  Congratulating women on March 8, 2009, President Emomali Rahmon said that International Women’s Day has only been celebrated on March 8 for about 100 years, but that ancient Aryan women — the ancestors of the Tajiks — had special days both for mothers, specifically, and for women in general.
