A roundtable to discuss the investment climate in Tajikistan took place in Brussels on March 8.

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan (MoEDT), the event took place on the sidelines of the 6th session of the EU-Tajikistan Cooperation Committee.  

The roundtable participants reportedly included European entrepreneurs, representatives of international organizations including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), as well as representatives of a number of European countries.

The main objective of the meeting was in presenting investment opportunities for international community in Tajikistan, an official source at a MoEDT told Asia-Plus in an interview.     

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqi Zavqizoda, reportedly outlined opportunities of investing in Tajikistan’s energy, agrarian, industrial and tourism sectors.
