Tajikistan’s national flag has been hoisted in the Olympic Village in PyeongChang, South Korea.  

The 2018 Paralympic Games opened in PyeongChang on March 9.  Tajikistan is participating in the Paralympic Winter Games for the first time.

Recall, Siyovoush Ilyosov is representing Tajikistan in the 2018 Paralympic Games in South Korea.  He will compete in the cross-country skiing discipline.

According to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Tajikistan, Ilyosov qualified for the 2018 Paralympic Games scoring 392 points at the qualification competition in Germany.  

The 2018 Winter Paralympics, officially known as the XII Paralympic Winter Games, and commonly known as the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics, is an international winter multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities that is scheduled to be held in Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, South Korea, from Mach 9-18, as governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). 

Competitions in the 2018 Winter Paralympics will be held in six Winter Paralympic sports, with 80 medal events in total:  Alpine skiing; Biathlon; Cross-country skiing; Ice sledge hockey; Snowboarding; and Wheelchair curling.
