A maiden Tajik-Uzbek business forum that took place in Dushanbe on the sidelines of Uzbek president’s state visit to Tajikistan has generated US$620 million worth of contracts, according to the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest).

Around 500 people including entrepreneurs from both countries and senior representatives of relevant ministries and agencies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in the maiden Tajik-Uzbek business forum that took place in the Tajik capital on March 9, the GosKomInvest press center says.

The meeting participants reportedly discussed their investment opportunities.  The event was followed by bilateral meetings in B2G (business to government) and B2B (business to business) formats.

The GosKomInvest press center says the business forum resulted in signing of sixteen contracts worth a total of more than 620 million U.S. dollars.

The second edition of the business forum is scheduled to take place in Tashkent in the second half of this year.
