Dushanbe police seize 45 kilos of heroin

Dushanbe police have seized 47.690 kilograms of narcotic drug.  A totaled reportedly included 45 kilograms of heroin and some three kilograms of raw.  

The Interior Ministry’s website reported on May 8 that Dushanbe police have seized a large amount of narcotics.  

45 packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 45 kilograms and two packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to raw opium weighing 2.69 kilograms have been found in NIVA belonging to the 35-year-old resident of Khorog Shodi Shoikov.

Accomplice in this crime, the 23-year-old Artur Yorbekov, who is also resident of Khorog, has also been detained.  

Criminal proceedings against the alleged drug traffickers have been instituted under the provisions of Article 200 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – large-scale drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.

In 2017, the law enforcement authorities and power-wielding structures of the country reportedly seized 4,448 kilograms of narcotics.
