An awarding ceremony for the winnes of the “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” contest has taken place at Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dushanbe.

The contest was organized by the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan (NABWT) under support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Tajikistan.  Thirty-four female entrepreneurs were selected as semi-finalists to further compete for awards in six business categories.  

Besides the partners in the contest, representatives of profile ministries and agencies as well as representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations active in the country and media have also been invited.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Ms. Sanavbar Sharipova, co-founder of the NABWT also chairperson of the Supervisory Board at the Micro Deposit Organization (MDO) IMON International, reported on women’s contribution to development of entrepreneurship in Tajikistan and noted that the contest helped bring out the best of them. 

Chairperson of the Zulaikho-2015 farming unit, Zulaikho Tillloyeva, was announced the Gand Prize prize winner of this year’s “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” contest.  She was awarded 100,000 somoni.

All 34 semi-finalists were awarded various souvenir gifts provided by the contest partners – Tcell, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Swiss Office for Cooperation, MDOs IMON International, Arvand and Humo, Bank Eskhata, Ozar Company, Qolinhoi Qairoqqum, etc.  

Partners to the NABWT for holding the “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” contest include the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest), the Committee for Family and Women’s Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan, USAID, MDO IMON International, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Durandesh IT Company, Boju Khiroj newspaper, Qolinhoi Qairoqqum, Shahri Man Radio, and Paivand Radio.  Tcell is the general organizational partner and Asia-Plus Media Group is the general information partner
