A driver died as a vehicle crashed into apartment building around 1:05 am Tuesday on Lermontov Street in Dushanbe, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.  

The driver, who was identified as Hikmatullo Umarzoda, the fourth-year student at the Tajik Agricultural University from Khovaling district of Khatlon province, was reportedly driving along Hofizi Sherozi Street.

The driver lost control of his BMW (number plate 87-97 CE/01) for unknown reason and crashed into apartment building on Lermontov Street, the Interior Ministry’s website said.  The driver died on the spot.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
