The President of Tajikistan flew to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region this morning. The president began his working trip from the Vanj district. How long the head of state will stay in the region is not yet reported.

Upon arrival in the region, the president opened a secondary school № 4 in the center of the district in the Vanj district. It is designed to train 1280 students in two shifts

Three-story school is built on an area of more than 4 thousand square meters and consists

of 28 classrooms and subject rooms, the press service of the head of state reports.

Meanwhile, the State National Security Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan completed a special operation aimed at disarmament the inhabitants of GBAO: they voluntarily surrendered illegally stored weapons to law

enforcement agencies – 39 firearms, including 11 Makarov pistols, 8 AKM guns, 1 machine gun and 1 SCS-7 carbine, and 19 other firearms. Such data are given on

the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.

The delivery of illegally stored weapons was held from August 16 to September 8 in the territory of GBAO in the framework of events organized by the Interregional

Republican Staff for the purpose of ensuring security and public order.

During the events in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast, a number of offenses were also identified, the Interior Ministry said. Thus, 537 cases of violation of  traffic rules were registered, including 66 cases of illegal tinting of cars, 20 driving without a driver's license, two people were detained and brought to administrative punishment for drunk driving, 12 cases of ignoring employees of SAI

Also, officials of internal affairs agencies and the State Committee for National Security identified 417 other offenses by citizens of GBAO, the report says.

In addition, in Khorog, in order to regulate the movement of vehicles on the roads, as well as for the safe movement of citizens, the terminals, previously located at markets and shopping centers, were moved to the outskirts of the city, the Interior Ministry reported.
