The capital of Tajikistan – Dushanbe was elected a member of the World Federation of Tourist Cities at the last summit of this organization in Qingdao, China, the press service of the mayor's office in Dushanbe reports..

The World Federation of Tourist Cities was established in September 2012 on the initiative of world famous tourist cities, including Beijing, Berlin, Los Angeles and Barcelona. Its headquarters is in Beijing.  Since its creation until today, the number of its members has grown from 58 to 172.

The municipality of Dushanbe is confident that the membership of the capital of Tajikistan in the WFTС will allow the city to increase its tourist potential, attract new influences and ideas to the city's tourism industry, and will help in the training of personnel
