$20 million will be allocated to the creation of capacities for the production and maintenance of buses and trucks in Tajikistan.
This is stated in the relevant investment agreement between the Government of Tajikistan, Tajik company Avesto Group and Turkish company Ulasim Ic Ve Dis Ticaret Anonim Sirketi.
The agreement signed in August of this year by a government resolution at the end of September was sent for ratification to the lower chamber of the republic’s parliament.
The document notes that the project will be implemented through the activities of the Tajik-Turkish joint ventures “Akia Avesto Automativ Industry” and “City Service Ltd”.
The first enterprise will be engaged in the production of passenger and cargo transport, and the second – the technical maintenance of the products.
Money – equally
Total amount of funds allocated for the creation of these enterprises is $ 20 million. Tajik and Turkish companies will invest this amount in an equal amount – $ 10 million each.
The construction of the necessary facilities should be completed within one year after the document received legal force, that is, after its ratification by parliament.
Earlier, the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management announced that, within the framework of the signed agreement, an enterprise will be set up to produce buses and trucks, as well as centers for the maintenance of manufactured vehicles.
The annual production capacity of “Akia Avesto Avtomativ Industry” will be 250-300 buses. At first, after putting the company into operation, 240 people will work there, 80% (at least 200 people) of whom, in accordance with the agreement, must be citizens of Tajikistan.
Some experience already exists
At the beginning of the current year, "Akia Avesto" started the assembly of "AKIA" buses in Dushanbe. Buses arrive in Dushanbe from Turkey by 75% assembled, the final assembly is already done at the above-mentioned factory.
In general, 200 buses for public transport in the Tajik capital will arrive in Dushanbe from Turkey, over a hundred of them have already been assembled and run through the capital’s streets.
We recently visited the factory, and saw how they assembly buses that we daily use.
