A resident of the Roudaki district has been detained on suspicion of drug trafficking.  Nearly 20 kilograms of narcotic drugs have been confiscated from him.

According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA), a resident of the Roudaki district, Suhrob Karimov, has been caught red-handed while selling nearly 20 kilograms of narcotic drugs to undercover drug control officers.

A totaled reportedly included more than 12 kilograms of heroin and 7.8 kilograms of hashish.  

Karimov said he had purchased the drugs from an Afghan national.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Karimov and an investigation is under way.

Besides, criminal proceedings have been institute against the Afghan national in absentia, the counternarcotics agency said.
