Criminal conviction stops people getting a job in public service.  The Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) today endorsed amendments proposed by the government to the country’s law on public service.

Presenting the bill to lawmakers, Juma Davlatov, the head of the Public Service Agency under the President of Tajikistan, said persons with criminal conviction are now barred from public service.
