Emomali Rahmon inaugurates a new cooking oil producing workshop in Spitamen district

A new cooking oil producing workshop has been launched in the northern district of Spitamen.  The workshop produces cooking oil from flax, rape, nigella and sunflower seeds.

An official opening ceremony of the workshop that took place yesterday was attended by President Emomali Rahmon.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the workshop has been built by local entrepreneur Davron Ahmadov.

Twenty-five people now work for the workshop with daily capacity of processing 65 tons of raw materials.  The workshop produces cooking oil from flax, rape, nigella and sunflower seeds.  The cooking oil is considered to be an import substitution product.

While in Spitamen, the head of state also got acquainted with activities of Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Neksigol, which has laid out an intensive garden in the area of 5 hectares.

Intensive gardening is a more extreme form of companion planting gardening that is space saving and efficient.

Apples and peaches have been planted in the garden and tomatoes, cabbages and peppers have been planted between the trees, the president’s official website says.
