War veterans living in Khatlon receive TJS1,500 from local authorities on the occasion of Victory Day

The regional budget of Khatlon province has allocated 129,000 somoni (TJS) to provide extraordinary grants to local veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

According to the Khatlon regional administration, the veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 living in Khatlon province will receive 1,500 somoni each. 

Only 86 veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 are estimated to be still alive in Khatlon province.  Over the past year, their number has decreased by 50 people.   

An official source at the Khatlon regional administration says heads of local cities and districts as well as local entrepreneurs will also provide assistance to war veterans living in the province.
