Three persons (they were brothers) were killed and three others were injured on May 8 as a car fell over a precipice into a river in Ayni district, Sughd province.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the accident took place in the evening, at 7:30 pm, near the village of Takfon.  

Muzaffar Nozimov, 52, probably lost control of his Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and it fell over the precipice into the river.  Muzaffar Nozimov and his two brothers – Mirzohomid Nozimov, 55, and Nozim Nozimov   57 – sustained injuries incompatible with life and died in a hospital.  

Three other passengers – Bezhan Jumayev, 20, underage Fakhriddin Olimzoda and Osimjon Nozimzoda, 19 – sustained various injuries and were taken to a hospital, the Interior Ministry’s website says.  

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Another fatal traffic accident took place on the same day in Varzob district.  Three persons (all of them were members of one family) were killed after Daewoo Tico fell into the Varzob River, according to the Emergencies Committee.
