President Emomali Rahmon has sharply criticized the State Service for Supervision of Transport under the Ministry of Transport for improper maintenance and care for roads. 

Addressing a meeting of senior representatives of fiscal agencies and banks, Emomali Rahmon noted on May 10 that improper performance by managers of the State Service for Supervision of Transport of their duties has led to rapid wear of road that were rehabilitated due to multi-million dollar loans.

According to Rahmon, heavy trucks weighing up to 80 tons have caused damage to pavement of roads. 

By government’s decree issued on May 14 the head of the State Service for Supervision of Transport Khurshed Qurbonzoda was dismissed.

By another government’s decree, Sherali Ganjalzoda, who had previously served as Deputy Minister of Transport, was appointed to head the State Service for Supervision of Transport.
