The final sitting of the fifth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of the fifth convocation is taking place on June 28 and then Majlisi Namoyandagon deputies will go on a summer recess.

A July 28 meeting is expected to review the results of the past year’s work and discuss a number of draft laws.

The Majlisi Namoyandagon head, Shukurjon Zuhurov, will report on the work carried out over the past year.      

The summer recess will last until August 15, and from August 16 to September 30, lawmakers will work in profile committees.

The sixth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fifth convocation will begin its work on October 1, 2017. 

In case of necessity, the President of Tajikistan has the right to convoke an extraordinary session of the parliament during the summer recess.
