Tajikistan approves the list of crimes related to human trafficking

In a decree issued on July 2, the Government of Tajikistan has approved the list of human trafficking related crimes.

The decree, in particular, notes that the list has been made in accordance with Article 6 of the country’s Law on Preventing Human Trafficking and Providing Assistance to Victims of Human Trafficking.

The following crimes have been put in the list of human trafficking related crimes:  

 

  • Abduction — Article 130 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;
  • Human trafficking – Article 130 (1) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;
  • Illegal deprivation of liberty – Article 131 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;
  • Child trafficking – Article 167 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;
  • Use of minors for production of pornography – Article 241 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;
  • Illegal border crossing – Article 335 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;
  • Organization of illegal entry of foreign citizens of stateless persons to the Republic of Tajikistan or organization of illegal transit through the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan – Article 335 (3);
  • Organization of illegal migration – Article 335 (2) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;   
  • Stealing and damaging documents, stamps and seals – Article 339 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code;
  • Falsification of documents, or the sale of forged documents, stamps and seals – Article 340 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code.
