A session of the Dushanbe local council (Majlis), presided over by Dushanbe mayor Rustam Emomali, took place on July 15.

A report on development of Dushanbe’s industrial sector was presented at the session.  In particular, the issue of launching new enterprises and workshops in the city was discussed.  

Speaking at the session, Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali pointed to the necessity of taking measures to support domestic producers and increase production of high-quality and competitive goods through launching new production lines, according to the Dushanbe Administration press center.  

The mayor reportedly noted that it is necessary to take immediate measures to build new industrial enterprises, connect buildings to heating lines and improve the quality of maintenance of multi-story buildings. 

Speaking at the session, the Dushanbe mayor also expressed concern about increase in juvenile crime and breakdown of young families.  Rustam Emomali ordered relevant officials to study the problem and take adequate measures to remove the mentioned shortcomings, the Dushanbe Administration press center said.
