The 82-year-old resident of the village of Chil-Chashma in Fayzobod district stabbed to death his 79-year-old fellow-villager inside a mosque after prayers.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, the incident took place in the afternoon of July 31, at 1:40 pm.

The 82-year-old man inflicted three stab wounds on the 50-year-old man and stabbed the 79-yearold man in the neck in the mosque yard following quarrel after midday prayers.

The 79-year-old man reportedly died on the spot and the 50-year-old man was hospitalized.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way, he Interior Ministry’s website says.
