Iran’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Mohammad Taghi Saberi has assured Tajik Minister of Industry and New Technologies Zarobiddin Faizulozoda that he will contribute to attraction of investments of Iranian companies in Tajikistan’s economy.

According to the press center of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies (MoINT), Iranian ambassador has remarked this recently during a meeting with the Tajik minister.

Mohammad Taghi Saberi reportedly noted that he would promote establishment of Tajik-Iranian joint ventures.

“The highest authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran are interested in expansion of cooperation with Tajikistan,” Iranian ambassador was quoted as saying by the MoINT press center.

Recall, Ambassador Mohammad Taghi Saberi noted in early March in Tehran during his meeting with the top Iranian legislator Ali Larijani that Tajikistan is a strategic country for expanding fully-fledged cooperation with Iran and promised to use all the potentials to develop bilateral relations in all areas.

Over the first seven months of this year, the two-way trade between Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran has valued at only 36.2 million U.S. dollars, which was nearly 43 percent fewer than in the same period last year.

According to official statistical data of Tajikistan, the bilateral trade between Tajikistan and Iran has decreased three times over the past five years – from nearly 295 million U.S. dollars in 2013 to 97 million U.S. dollars in 2018.
