Thirty-one foreign nationals have reportedly been deported from Tajikistan for illegal staying in the country.

The Interior Ministry’s official website says 31 foreigners have been deported and 145 others have been fined within the frameworks of a three-stage operation, dubbed “Illegal Alien” (undocumented immigrant), which has been carried out this year.

The operation has reportedly been carried out across the country and 3,798 foreign nationals registered in residential buildings, hotels, dormitories as well as 800 enterprises and organizations.  Have been inspected for having registration and labor licenses as well as observance of Tajikistan’s migration legislation.

The “Illegal Alien” Operation is carried out annually in all member nations of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in accordance with a decision by the CSTO Coordinating Council on Combating Illegal Migration.
