Resident of the Vakhsh district in Khatlon province has got a lengthy jail term for killing his pregnant wife.

The Khatlon regional court has sentenced Olimjon Alimov to twenty-two years in prison.  The sentence followed his charge of brutal killing, according to the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office.  Alimov will serve his term in a high-security penal colony.

Alimov reportedly entered into a Muslim marriage (Nikah) with Sumanmoh Nazarova in November last year.  They lived together for only five months.

The spouses had often quarreled and Alimov killed his pregnant wife on March 24, 2019 following another family quarrel.  He reportedly inflicted several stab wounds on Sumanmoh Nazarova.

In order to hide the traces of a crime, Alimov buried her under floorboards in one of rooms in their home.
