Tajik, Uzbek capital mayors vow to boost cooperation

Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali held talks with Tashkent Mayor Jahongir Artiqkhojayev in the Uzbek capital on December 3 to discuss further expansion of bilateral cooperation.

According to the Tashkent administration’s official website, Rustam Emomali noted that the Tajik side wanted to get acquainted with Uzbek capital’s experience in the field of construction.  

Noting centuries-old friendly and neighborly relations between the Uzbek and Tajik peoples, similar culture and traditions as well as common religion, Artiqkhojayev, in his part, reportedly expressed readiness for the comprehensive expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tashkent and Dushanbe.  

Rustam Emomali expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere and proposed to hold Days and Tashkent in Dushanbe next year and hold a youth forum on the sidelines of this event, the Tashkent administration’s official website said.

Artiqkhojayev and Emomali reportedly signed a document on implementation of the plan of actions in economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres designed for 2020-2021.
