Number of individual entrepreneurs increases while private companies see decline in numbers

Around 26,000 business entities declared insolvency in 2019, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

1,400 companies and 24,400 individual entrepreneurs reportedly declared insolvency last year.  

At the same time, more than 36,000 new economic entities, including 1,100 companies and 35,300 individual entrepreneurs, were registered in the country last year.  

The number of private companies last year reduced by 245 while the number of individual entrepreneurs increased by 10,800.  

According to data from the Agency for Statistics, more than 330,000 economic entities now operate in the country.
