Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who is also the Head of the Government, has introduced a number of staff changes shaking up military officials.

By government’s decree Abdusattor Shohiyon, formerly Deputy Chief of the Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense in charge of political-and-educational work.  

Safarali Mirzozoda, who had previously serves as Deputy Prosecutor-General also Main Military Prosecutor, was appointed Deputy Chief of the SCNS Border Guard Directorate.

Ikrom Zoirzoda was appointed Deputy Prosecutor-General also Main Military Prosecutor of Tajikistan. 

In accordance with Article 69 (9) of Tajikistan’s Constitution, the President shall appoint and dismiss the Prosecutor General and deputies thereof with the approval of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament). 

Besides, by government’s decrees chiefs of the military registration enlistment offices of Dushanbe as well as Sughd and Khatlon provinces were replaced.

The head of state also shook up commanders of a number of military units of the Ministry of Defense, chiefs of a number border units and defense attaché officers of a number of Tajik diplomatic missions abroad were replaced.

By government’s decrees deputy ministers of education and heads of free economic zones “Kulob”, “Dangahra”, and “Panj” were replaced.
