A first group of Tajiks was released from coronavirus quarantine at Dushanbe infectious diseases hospital Friday (February 14) morning.

In all, 88 people, including nationals of Tajikistan and representatives of Chinese companies operating in Tajikistan, have reportedly arrived in Dushanbe from China.

Among those who were released from coronavirus quarantine Friday morning was Muhammadjon Qayumov, who was quarantined together with his fellow students on February 1 on arrival from China.

According to him, good conditions have been organized for them in the hospital.

Meanwhile, medical workers told Asia-Plus that the released persons would remain under the supervision of doctors for a certain time.

Recall, Tajik health authorities stepped up preventative measures in early February as part of their efforts to contain a global epidemic.

The Tajik Health Ministry has required anybody traveling from China to remain in quarantine for a period of 14 days.  There are quarantine centers in all the country’s regions.  These kinds of policies have generated approval from the public,

There have been no confirmed cases of the illness in Tajikistan.
