President’s order to raise wages and pensions will be implemented in full volume, Finance Minister Zarobiddin Qahhorzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on February 13.  

According to him, the national budget for this year has earmarked funds necessary for implementing this order of the president.  

In a statement delivered at a joint session of both houses of parliament, President Emomali Rahmon on December 26 ordered to raise wages of employees of federally funded institutions as well as pensions and student grants by 10-15 percent from September 1, 2020.   

Wages for law enforcement officers and military personnel are supposed to be raised by 10 percent.

Wages for employees of federally funded institutions as well as pensions and allowances (scholarships) for students will be raised by 15 percent.  

Besides, pensions of people with disabilities under the age of 18 disabled as well not working people with disabilities and a group of people having a disability and needing care will be raised by 50 percent.  

Current minim monthly wage in Tajikistan amounts to 400.00 somoni (equivalent to 41.00 USD) and an average monthly wage amounts to 1,357 somoni (equivalent to 140.00 USD).

An average monthly pension in Tajikistan amounts to 303.00 somoni (equivalent to 31.00 USD).
