Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali has invited mayors of Dushanbe’s sister cities to celebrate the Navrouz festival in Dushanbe, according to the Dushanbe Administration press center.

Theatrical show called “Mo Vorisoni Navrouz” (We Are Fellow-Heirs of Navrouz) will take place at the Navrouzgoh Complex in Dushanbe on March 21.  

Besides, various open-air cultural and sports activities such as concerts, contests, quizzes and mini football competition among teens will be organized in all the city’s parks.  

National wrestling competitions and horse races will be held at the Navrouzgoh complex (Dushanbe hippodrome) on March 23 and 24.  

To-date, Dushanbe is twinned with: Ganja (Azerbaijan); Lusaka (Zambia); Sana'a, Yemen; Monastir (Tunisia); Klagenfurt (Austria); Lahore (Pakistan); Boulder (Colorado, US); Mazar-i Sharif (Afghanistan); Reutlingen (Germany) Saint Petersburg (Russia); Shiraz (Iran); Tehran (Iran); Minsk (Belarus); Ankara (Turkey); Ashgabat (Turkmenistan); Urumqi (Xinjiang, China); Xiamen (Fujian, China) an Qingdao (Shandong, China).
