Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at more than 383 million U.S. dollars last month

In January 2020, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan amounted to 383.5 million U.S. dollars, which was 117.9 percent of the January 2019 level or 58.3 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance last month was negative and amounted to 239.3 million U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in January reportedly amounted to 72.1 million U.S. dollars, which was 9.7 percent or 6.4 million U.S. dollars more than in January last year.

Imports of goods into the country last month amounted to 311.4 million U.S. dollars, which was 20 percent or 51.9 million U.S. dollars more than in January last year.

Last month, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 78 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

In January, the major trading partners of Tajikistan were Russia (the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia has valued at 95.8 million US dollars over the report period), China (nearly 82 million U.S. dollars) and Kazakhstan (68.8 million U.S. dollars).
