Tajikistan increases cargo shipments

Over the first three months of this year, all types of transportation have shipped 18.5 million tons of cargo, which was 7.0 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

91.7 percent of cargo have reportedly been shipped over the report period by automobile transport, some 8.3 percent have been shipped by rail transport, and 0.001 percent has been shipped by air.  

Cargo shipment by automobile transportation has reportedly increased 5.7 percent compare the same period last year.

Cargo shipment by rail transportation has reportedly increased over the same thee-month period by 24.3 percent.  

Meanwhile, cargo shipment by air has decreased over the report by 40.5 percent compared to January-March last year.
