Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament) Speaker, Rustam Emomali has signed a decree to convene the second session of the Majlisi Milli of the sixth convocation.

The session will take place on June 26 and Majlisi Milli members will discuss a number of bills amending some country’s laws.

Thus, they will discuss amendments made to the country’s laws on legal aid, insurance and state pensions, permitting system and state registration of acts of civil status.  

Majlisi Milli members will also discuss amendments made the country’s administrative code.  

The first session of the Majlisi Milli of the sixth convocation took place in Dushanbe on April 17. Lawmakers on April 17 elected Tajik president’s eldest son the chairman of the parliament’s upper chamber.  The move technically turns Rustam Emomali into the second-highest-ranking political figure in Tajikistan.
