President Emomali Rahmon today morning arrived in the northern province of Sughd to get acquainted with the socioeconomic situation in the region, according to the Tajik president’s official website. 

In the Bobojon-Ghafourov district, the head of state attended official opening ceremonies of two medical facilities.

Rahmon reportedly inaugurated the “Vahdat” diagnostic treatment center and the district infectious diseases hospital in the Khistevarz jamoat of the Bobojon-Ghafourov district.

Meanwhile, a source with the Tajik government says the culmination of president’s working trip to northern Tajikistan will be his visit to the Mastchoh district.

While, in the Mastchoh district, Emomali Rahmon will inaugurate about 30 economic and social facilities, including a new 10,000-seat stadium, a new palace of culture and a number of schools and kindergartens.

The Palace of Culture having 1,000 seats will be the country’s largest Palace of Culture, the source said.

According to him, more than 30 million somoni have been spent for construction of this Palace of Culture.

Some 11 million somoni have reportedly been spent for construction of the new stadium in the district.

The head of state will also hold a meeting with regional administrators of the Sughd province in Buston, the administrative center of the Mastchoh district.
