A working trip of President Emomali Rahmon to the northern province of Sughd is going on.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, Rahmon yesterday attended an official opening ceremony of the first stage of the Dehmoi water supply line.  This line provides more than 15,000 resident of the city of Khujand with safe drinking water.       

The project has reportedly been implemented due to funds provided by the republican budget.  The project is expected to be implemented in four stages and an estimated budget of the project is more than 100 million somoni.     

The first stage includes rehabilitation of station No 4 of Khujand Water Company (Khujandvodokanal).

The second stage includes construction of two large water reservoirs and installation of pipes.

The third and fourth stages include laying an 18-kilometer water supply line from Dehmoi to Khujand.  

Yesterday, the head of state also got acquainted with activity of the garment enterprise Sughdiyon L.C.C., which had been reintroduced into operation after major repairs.   

On the same day, the head of state also attended an official opening ceremony of a new sausage making shop Shirkati Azizi L.L.C.  

On Thursday, he also visited a number of farming units in the Jabbor-Rasoulov district.
