Tajik Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqi Zavqizoda and Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Liu Bin held a virtual meeting on July 14 to discuss cooperation issues, according to the press center of the Ministry Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT).     

They, in particular, discuss the issue of recruitment of Chinese specialists for construction of a new building for Tajik parliament and a government complex in Dushanbe.

Zavqizoda and Liu reportedly also discussed issues related to trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and China, operations of joint ventures in Tajikistan a projects aimed at constructing and rehabilitating public infrastructures and enhancing the energy sector in Tajikistan. 

The two also touched upon the issue of providing relief for servicing public debt, the MoEDT press center said.  

They reportedly also discussed proposals on holding the next meeting of Tajikistan-China intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, setting up industrial enterprise in the free economic zones (FEZs) in Tajikistan, exporting Tajik fresh and dried fruits to China and developing digital economy in Tajikistan.
