A mild tremor measuring 4.9 on Richter scale jolted some areas of the Tajik northern province of Sughd today at 1:18 pm.
The United States Geological Survey says the quake occurred at the depth of six kilometers some six kilometers from the Chilgazi jamoat, which is subordinate to the city of Isfara.
The tremor reportedly could be felt in neighboring Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan as well.
No damage or injured was reported.
